Campus Safety Services

We provide a wide range of services for all students, employees, and visitors at FLCC. Do not hesitate to call on us for assistance! The following is a list of services and responsibilities handled by the Office of Campus Safety:

First Aid - Call our office if you or someone in your vicinity is ill or injured. We have a capable staff that will provide first aid for you and call an ambulance, if necessary. Dial 7911 on campus.

Crime Reporting - Call our office if you believe that you are the victim of a crime or if you are witness to a crime in progress (for example, a hit and run accident). Our staff of sworn NYS Peace Officers has law enforcement authority on FLCC property. We investigate incidents occurring on campus and can make arrests if necessary. We can contact other law enforcement and public safety agencies by radio for fast response during emergencies–medical or otherwise. Dial 7911 on campus.

Personal Escorts - If you’d feel more comfortable having an officer walk you out to your vehicle, just give us a call. We’ll be happy to see you to your vehicle and check it for you. If you’ve been a recent victim of domestic violence, please let us know. We can keep an eye out and help prevent problems on campus before they start. Dial 7900.

Lost and Found - If you find or lose an item, please check with us. We tag and hold all items for a minimum of 90 days, and have collected everything from cash to leather jackets. Dial 7900.

Vehicle Assists - Lock your keys in your car? We can probably get you back into your vehicle. Need a jump start because you forgot to turn your lights off? Not a problem! Just give us a call. Dial 7900.

Facility Use - If you need to schedule a room or use the campus for an event, call the Information Desk at 7204.

Emergency Messages - Let your family members, day care center, and school district know that if they need to contact you in an emergency, they can call the Office of Campus Safety at extension 7900. We will request the name and phone number of the caller, as well as the nature of the emergency, and deliver the message to you as soon as we can find you.

Temporary Handicap Permits - If you have a temporary condition (i.e. sprained ankle) and you would have trouble walking in to the building from one of the large parking lots, please bring a physician’s statement and get an application for a handicap permit from our office. Upon approval, we may issue an on campus permit for up to 30 days. For permits of a longer duration, please contact your city, town, or village clerk’s office. Dial 7900.

Information Desk - Unfamiliar with campus and unsure how to find your classrooms? Need to find the office of your advisor or faculty member? Just stop at our information Desk in the first floor lobby. We also maintain a calendar of events for the College and provide maps of the building interior. Dial 7204.

Crime Prevention - We will loan you our engraving equipment so you can mark your possessions and make them identifiable. We offer tips on personal safety, loss prevention, etc. Dial 7900.

College Vehicles - If you are an employee of the College and you need a vehicle for a class trip, workshop, or conference, contact our office to schedule a vehicle and get the keys. Dial 7204.

Safety Checks/Fire Inspections - Our department conducts monthly safety inspections of our buildings and grounds and conducts fire drills periodically throughout the year. We make other systems checks, as well, and inspect everything from labs to ladders. If you see any condition that you consider to be potentially hazardous, please bring it to our attention. We want to keep our campus safe! Dial 7900.
