Student Center

FLCC’s new Student Center will be completed during the 2011-12 academic year.  This means some big changes are in store for the campus.

MAIN ENTRANCE AT CANANDAIGUA CAMPUS TO REOPEN OCT. 4, 2011

Weather permitting, the main entrance to the FLCC building in Canandaigua will reopen on October 4, 2011, following extensive sidewalk construction and repair. This entrance is nearest the library and the flagpole.

From the main parking lot, or A lot, off Lakeshore Drive: Watch for signs directing you toward the new sidewalk, not far from the new handicapped and guest parking area. The doorway nearest the Campus Safety Offices has reverted back to an emergency exit only. Please do not use it as an entrance.

From the CMAC parking lot, also known as the G lot, off East Lake Road: Watch for changes in the pedestrian walkways as sidewalk work on the west side of the building is completed. Follow construction fencing.

The sidewalk work is part of the redesign of the grounds at the front of the building in conjunction with the construction of the new Student Center. Work on the 78,000-square-foot wing will be completed during the 2011-12 academic year.

Offices and facilities will move into the new wing gradually during downtimes to avoid interruptions in student services.

FLCC broke ground on the Student Center in March 2010. The new wing will house a 410-seat auditorium, a larger cafeteria and bookstore and all enrollment services in a convenient One Stop Center. As offices and facilities move into the new areas, the vacant spaces in the core of the main building will be renovated into additional classrooms and laboratories to accommodate FLCC’s rising enrollment.

Events to mark the opening of the new building will be announced on the College's social media site: FLCCconnects.com.

We thank everyone for their patience during this exciting time. Check back frequently as weather and other issues can change the construction schedule.
