Returning Students Scholarships and Criteria
A returning student is one who is currently enrolled at FLCC, has completed at least one semester at the College, and will be enrolled at FLCC for the 2012-2013 academic year.

General Interest Scholarships
Association for Women at Finger Lakes Community College (AWFLCC) Scholarship
- Amount: $500 full-time (1), $250 part-time (1)
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Female student
- Completion of at least 12 credits at time of application
- Demonstrate financial need AND financial independence from family other than spouse
- Two reference letters are required from individuals not related to the student; at least one letter must be from an FLCC faculty or staff member
Jack L. Bricker Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Current part- or full-time student
- Preference to a student with interest in political science/history
- Essay should include the following: what access to higher education means to you personally; an outline of your goals and aspirations; why you chose FLCC.
Dr. Ina Sue Brown Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: Tuition for one three-credit hour course
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Current part-time student
- Completion of at least nine credit hours at time of application
- Identify academic and professional goals in essay
- Demonstrate financial need
Donald and Jean Burgan Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $740
- Minimum GPA: 2.7
- Completion of at least one semester at time of application
- Provide evidence of volunteer community involvement such as church, scouting, fund- raising, or college organizations
Dr. Rebecca Burgess Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000
- Female student
- Demonstrate academic excellence
- Submit an essay on one of these two topics: 1. Describe a woman (living or deceased) who has been a positive influence in your life and share her impact on you. 2. Describe your participation in a social cause, a campus organization, or a community group that was rewarding for you and/or helped others. Be specific about the personal impact and/or the value to others from your experience

John and Peggy Champaigne Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $350
- Must have completed at least one semester at FLCC
- Minimum GPA: 2.8
- Appropriate documentation must be on file with the Coordinator of Services for Students with a learning disability and/or the Coordinator of Services for Students with a Physical Disability
CCFL Storefront Pioneers Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Involved in College activities or community service (exclusive of practicum requirements)
- Demonstrate financial need
- Essay must address student's involvement in community/college activities and articulate goals for the future
Ed & Gerry Cuony Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000 (2)
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Preference to residents of Geneva, NY
- Preference to graduates of Geneva or DeSales High School
- Preference to students who have completed a minimum of 9 credits of coursework at the FLCC Geneva Center
- Statement must describe activities and circumstances that demonstrates any or all of the following personal qualities: citizenship, patriotism, teamwork, commitment
FLCC Alumni Association Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000 part- or full-time student (3)
- Minimum GPA: 3.4
- Involved in one or more of the following: student activities, athletics, or community service (exclusive of practicum requirements)
FLCC Geneva Campus Center Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Minimum GPA: 2.0
- Part- or full-time student who has completed at least 12 credits at the Geneva Center
- Any major
FLCC Honors Studies Scholarship
- Amount: $1,000
- Minimum GPA: 3.3
- Current part- or full-time student
- Completion of at least 6 credits of Honors Studies coursework
- Essay (300-400 words) must explore an exciting idea or recent experience that has spurred your imagination or challenged your intellect
Garlock Sealing Technologies Scholarship
- Amounts vary
- Full-time incoming student matriculated in any degree program who did not receive the scholarship as an incoming student
- Preference will be given to applicants who have a parent, guardian, or grandparent who is an employee at/retiree from Garlock
- Demonstrate financial need
Ann Hamilton Memorial Scholarship
- Amounts vary
- Student in any degree program who has been enrolled in developmental reading and writing classes
Charlotte B. Munson Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $420
- Minimum GPA: 2.0
- Demonstrate interest in public service and/or the political process
Sharon Nedrow Adult Basic Education Scholarship
- Amount: TBD
- Student earned a GED at FLCC
- Student is continuing coursework at FLCC with a goal to earn an associate degree
The POW/MIA Award
- Amount: $400
- Preference is given to those having been a Prisoner of War or Missing in Action or to their family members, including spouses, children or grandchildren
- Preference shall next be given to a disabled veteran or their family members including spouses, children or grandchildren.
- Preference shall next be given to veterans or their family members including spouses, children or grandchildren
- Students should be funding their education from private sources and demonstrate financial need
- If no applicant meets the above criteria, the scholarship is available for a student who meets the financial need criteria
S & S Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Major: hotel and resort management, conservation, or horticulture
- Canandaigua Academy high school graduate
- Preference given to a veteran and to a student demonstrating financial need
SUNY Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship
- Amounts vary based on state funding allocation
- Student enrolled in degree program
- US citizen; New York State resident
- GPA reflects high academic achievement
- Statement must demonstrate how student has overcome a disadvantage or impediment to pursuit of a higher education

- Part- or full-time FLCC student who demonstrates academic achievement and experience or interest in the field
- Must be available for 10 week paid internship during the summer
IPM & Plant Health Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Demonstrate academic success and commitment to the promotion of sound environmentally-based IPM practices using concrete examples from the student's education, experiences, and/or public outreach
- Student must submit a resume or be available for an interview
- Resume/statement must address one or more of the following: importance of plant pathology, professional goals for preservation of trees and landscape, scientific background or intent
Ontario County Master Gardeners Scholarship
- Amount: $500 (2)
- Minimum GPA: 2.75
- Ontario County resident
- Major: horticulture
- Part- or full-time student
- Statement must address student's motivation for pursuing a horticulture degree
S & S Memorial Scholarship
- Amount: $500
- Major: hotel and resort management, conservation, or horticulture

Lake Ontario Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited for Wayne and Ontario County Book Award
- Amount: $600 to be used in the FLCC Book Store
- Attending full-time and matriculated in environmental studies, fisheries technology, or the natural resources conservation degree program
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Essay addresses student's interest in an environmental career, the people/circumstances that influenced the student's interest in the environment, and career and personal goals.

- A graduate of the Massage Therapy program at FLCC who is entering the Nursing program at FLCC or
- A graduate of the Nursing program at FLCC who is entering the Massage Therapy program at FLCC
- If no applicants fit these criteria, preference will be given to any student who intends to pursue any complementary health care field.

- Preference given to students continuing their nursing education at a four-year college in the fall

- Major: therapeutic massage; enrolled in Shiatsu I at time of application
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency and dedication to the profession of massage therapy
- Demonstrate financial need
Melissa Young (Hawk Child Wandering) Massage Scholarship

- Major: therapeutic massage
- Main consideration for selection: student has undergone great challenges pursuing his/her degree at FLCC (e.g. death in the family, divorce, loss of job)

Tourism Scholarship
Finger Lakes Visitors Connection, Ontario County, NY Scholarship

- Major: hotel & resort management, sports & tourism, or tourism management
- Preference to a student from the Finger Lakes region
- REQUIRED ESSAY: 250 word essay addressing the key concepts of what you have learned during your first year or semester of study. Include any practical experience you have gained through internships or work in tourism.
