Center for Teaching and Learning: Professional Development Projects

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Planning Board accepts project proposals annually.  Proposals will be considered on a first come, first serve basis until funds are exhausted. The Planning Board will review proposals during regularly scheduled monthly meetings.

  • The proposed plan and timetable are realistic.
  • The project adheres to guidelines for ethical research.
  • Potential problems and alternative tactics are considered.

Outcome:

  • The project is likely to contribute to the instructor’s understanding of student learning within the particular scope and context of the project.
  • The project is likely to contribute to the understanding and advancement of student learning at FLCC.

II. FACULTY INTERNSHIPS

This is an opportunity for you to stay current in your respective area of teaching expertise!  You can then come back to campus and use your internship experience to update and improve teaching and learning in your classes. It is expected that each internship would be completed in January or during the Summer when regular classes are not in session.  Your internship must be between ten and twenty hours in length.  You will receive $1000.00 following completion of a final report detailing your internship.

If your internship proposal is approved by the CTL Planning Board, you will sign a contract detailing your proposed internship.  Upon completion of your internship, you must submit a final report electronically to the Coordinator of the Center for Teaching and Learning.  It will then be reviewed and approved by the CTL Coordinator and the Associate VP of Instruction & Assessment at which time you will receive your payment.
