The Dean
of Student Services serves as liaison to the following College governance
committees:
- Enrollment
Management Committee. The primary purpose of the Enrollment Management
Committee is to develop policy recommendations that support student
enrollment and retention and which permit the College to maintain its
relationships with business, government and other societal partners.
The Enrollment Management Committee is responsible for making recommendations
regarding enrollment planning; admissions, recruitment and marketing
strategies; student retention; customer services and processes including
registration, financial aid and student finances. There shall be 14
committee members as follows: two from the Administration; five from
the Professional Staff; four from the Teaching Faculty; one from the
Support Staff; two from the Student Body.
- Student
Services Committee. The primary purpose of the Student Services
Committee is to review and facilitate the development of activities
and policy recommendations that support the quality of students
experiences at FLCC. The Student Services Committee is responsible for
making policy recommendations regarding all aspects of student life,
including student fees; student living conditions; child care; food
service; advisement and skills assessment; counseling; crisis intervention;
student code of conduct; athletics; student social events; student orientation.
There shall be 13 committee members as follows: one from the Administration;
five from the Professional Staff; three from the Teaching Faculty; two
from the Support Staff; two from the Student Body.
Enrollment
Management Team
The Dean
of Student Services also serves as Chairperson of the Enrollment Management
Team. The primary purpose of the Enrollment Management Team is to develop
enrollment and marketing strategies and plans. The Enrollment Management
Team is responsible for 11 objectives cited in the Enrollment Management
Study Implementation Plan approved by the Board of Trustees in July
1997. These objectives include:
- Develop
strategies to create an institutional awareness of and commitment
to enrollment management (Objective 1.4; Dean of Student Services
as liaison).
- Develop
recruitment strategies for traditional age students to capitalize
on those increasing enrollment opportunities and to maximize yield
from area high schools (Objective 1.6; Director of Admissions as liaison).
- Develop
long-range recruitment strategies to attract non-traditional and part-time
students (Objective 1.7; Director of Admissions as liaison).
- Develop
a formal marketing plan with appropriate budget support to articulate
goals and direction and to monitor progress (Objective 1.9; College
Relations Officer as liaison).
- Develop
strategies for providing information to both current and prospective
students (Objective 1.10; Dean of Student Services as liaison).
- Conduct
a review of the strengths and weaknesses of all academic programs;
identify enrollment targets and determine marketing strategies for
each program (Objective 2.1; Vice President of Academic Affairs as
liaison).
- Develop
policies and procedures for marketing, public relations and information
releases (Objective 3.2; College Relations Officer as liaison).
- Review
scheduling options and develop an alternative scheduling plan to accommodate
certain enrollment population targets (Objective 4.2; Associate Dean
of Instruction as liaison).
- Develop
a plan for training staff in areas that have frequent and repeated
contact with students to create a "customer service" orientation
(Objective 4.3; Human Resources Officer as liaison).
- Develop
a proposal to increase Faculty and Administration awareness of their
impact on student perceptions and marketability of the College (Objective
4.4; Vice President of Academic Affairs as liaison).
- Review
current hours of service to students and recommend changes as appropriate
(Objective 4.5; Dean of Student Services as liaison).
The
Enrollment Management Team is comprised of the following membership:

Faculty representatives elected by the Teaching Faculty Forum and
appointed by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
