Placement Testing
FLCC requires all incoming, degree-seeking students (as well as any individuals seeking to enroll in Freshman English) to complete computer-based ACCUPLACER placement tests. The results of these tests, in combination with previous academic work, are used to assure proper placement in courses.
All students complete tests in Reading Comprehension and Sentence Skills. Each test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and there is no time limit for completing the tests. The tests are user-friendly, even for students who have no computer experience. A proctor is available during testing for assistance.
Math Testing
Certain degree programs are required to take a 25-question math test. View the degree programs that require students to take the math test.
Music Testing
Students entering the Music or Music Recording Technology degree programs are required to take a 35-question music theory test. This test is given in a paper/pencil format, and students have a 30 minute time limit.
Testing Dates & Times
Testing for the Fall ’08 semester is available at the main campus, by appointment. RSVP online for a testing date & time now or call 585-394-3500, ext. 7604, to sign up for one of the below testing dates.
Testing is also offered, by appointment, at the Geneva (315-789-6701) and Wayne County (315-331-9098) campus centers. Please call for dates and times.
Students who will not have a high school diploma or GED certificate before attending FLCC will need to take the Ability to Benefit test. These students should identify themselves as non-high school graduates when they call for appointments.
