Q: What can I do if I am undecided about my program or major?

A: Many students who begin their college career at FLCC are undecided about a major. Even for those students who enter college with a declared major, statistics show that approximately seventy percent will change their majors at least twice before graduating.

Take action steps by first speaking to an FLCC admissions counselor. An admissions counselor can guide you to the FLCC majors that best match your interests and refer you to others who can assist you in the path to making a career decision. Undecided students can work with their academic advisor to first identify basic core courses (common to all majors) and electives in subject areas of most interest to them.

If you have questions about this process, you can call or e-mail the Admissions Office. Steps will include scheduling a placement test (Basic Skills Test) followed by an appointment to register. Other aspects of enrolling will include applying for financial aid, submitting a Certificate of Immunization, and obtaining a Certificate of Residence (for residents of counties other than Ontario County).
