Nurse Assistant
Prepare to become a certified Nurse Assistant by completing this FLCC course and passing the New York State certification exam. Our non-credit program includes classroom training in the principles and practices of patient care, and clinical experience in a long-term care setting. Applicants should be tactful, patient, dependable, understanding, and have a desire to help people. You will work as part of a team, so good communication skills are vital. Since Nurse Assistants must be in good health, a physical exam, including a State-regulated test for tuberculosis and hepatitis, is required.
Orientation and an interview are required prior to registering for the Nurse Assistant course. Contact the Division of Professional Studies & Continuing Education, (585) 394-3500, ext. 7660 or ce@flcc.edu for a schedule/p>
Our Community Learning publication provides ready access to upcoming Nurse Assistant courses.
