The Outlook

Information security has become a global concern. The increasing reliance on automated systems, the ubiquity of the internet and the lack of security mechanisms in current network infrastructures places personal and organizational information at risk. The need for employees trained in this field is expected to continue to grow. FLCC’s Information Security certificate program is designed to provide you with the opportunity to gain marketable skills after one year of study, as it includes the curriculum necessary to obtain generic (non-vendor specific) certification in information security. Graduates certified in Security+ will be in high demand to ensure the security of systems and data. Students may also choose to progress to FLCC's A.A.S. Information Technology program.

Curriculum Requirements

As a student in this program, you are required to complete a minimum of 32 hours with a grade point average not less than C (2.0). For this certificate, you must successfully complete the following:

  • CSC 275 Preparing for Security+ Certification

This certificate program in Information Security is designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain saleable skills after one year of study.
